Stream the latest EP ‘Catercorner’ by clicking here.

The single is from there latest self-titled EP which was released on 5th June 2020 and has received positive reviews from multiple media outlets such as Moshville & Secreteclectic.

Catercorner is the solo project of James Sherwin who has had many musical projects over the years. His current project was originally put together in 2009 when Sherwin wanted to produce something truly experimental and drew inspiration from more diverse influences. However, due to things in life getting in the way, he was forced to put Catercorner to one side.

2020 came around and everyone had suddenly got a lot of spare time on there hands, James picked up the project again and released Catercorners debut EP in June 2020. He handled all of the vocals, programming, production and all the instruments for the release, fusing together aggressive metal & glitchy electronica to create something incredible.

James Sherwin commented about the new EP:

I wanted to create something that was completely unconstrained, with no preconception of what the end result might be—something uncompromising, that completely disregarded boundaries and was unafraid to visit strange places. I feel that I achieved that goal and created a pretty unique slice of metal.”

– James Sherwin

Now that the new year is upon us, Catercorner will now be releasing a brand new music video for the awesome track ‘The Other Osmium’ on February 19th 2020. James is also now working on a follow-up album which is estimated to be released either later this year or in early 2022.

Before we read about the EP and James Sherwin, we listened to it, and once we had discovered that this was all created by one person we was in absolute shock. Somehow he has managed to put together an EP which sounds like a full band has worked on it and it sounds professionally put together, you can clearly tell James has put all of his years of experience into this project. If you love Alt-Metal, or even just music in general, this is an EP you need to check out.

We’d be surprised if you wasn’t as stunned as we are.
