SixStringNoise, an Alternative Metal band from Athens, Greece, has released their fifth full-length studio album ‘Hanami’ on 12th February 2021.
Markos6SN spoke about why the band chose the name ‘Hanami’:
‘Hanami’ is the Japanese Cherry blossom viewing season around April, that has been celebrated for many centuries and holds a very particular place in their culture.
… And why i chose that title? In a world left grief-stricken and terrified by Covid-19, this title symbolizes the blossom and hope after what we’ve been through, while that quarantine started in Springtime (In the Hanami season).
It’s a pleasant message for the whole world that after a ‘Cold Damned Season’ could work out better for everyone!
SixStringNoise have been very busy the last year or so, it was only in 2020 that the band released ‘Ten Years’ which features the best tracks from 6SN, all of which are 2 tracks from each of the bands existing albums & EPs as well as including one brand new single and a b-side track.
The new album includes 10 tracks filled with electrifying guitars & vocals that take you on an adventure. Hanami is exclusively available on Bandcamp, listeners are un-able to find the album anywhere else.
– Beijing Cocktail
– Disappear Off the Grid
– Change your Mind
– In Limbo
– One-Hit Wonders
– Fight the Devil
– Persona Non Grata
– The Justice of your Maker
Overall, SixStringNoise is difficult to describe, but to us, particularly on the track ‘Disappear Off The Grid’ it’s like Alter Bridge meets Iron Maiden in a way, the vocals are like Myles Kennedy & Bruce Dickinson and the band is similar to the electrifying Alter Bridge musicians, in our opinion anyways. We enjoyed listening to the album & will be something we’ll put on from time to time.
Despite our approval of the album, we do think it’s a very mixed album, we feel there’s a lot of different styles mixed in and is difficult to pin point exactly what they’re aiming to achieve in terms of this release.
